Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Glum with Gloom

All things end

All things pass

No one lives forever,  all phenomena are temporary, transitory, ephemeral

Thoughts arise, and dissipate

Diamonds aren’t forever

Impermanence

Like bubbles (pop)

Time itself lasts until the end of time

Death swings his scythe

Death,  thou shalt die

Nothing matters, all is pointless, sadness

Or, LIVE!  Your one life to live.  Seize the day. You Only Live Once. Carpe diem.  Seize the fish. Seedy cd.  carpe diem, compact disc, certificate of deposit, see the devil, seeing eye dog

The Mass is ended, go forth to love and serve the lord

This revery on mortality is gone, over, done.  Finished.  Finito.

The End

Sad, Indifferent, or Verve?

Benign Indifference of The Universe:

"It was as if that great rush of anger had washed me clean, emptied me of hope, and, gazing up at the dark sky spangled with its signs and stars, for the first time, the first, I laid my heart open to the benign indifference of the universe.  To feel it so like myself, so brotherly, made me realize that I'd been happy, and that I was happy still.  For all to be accomplished, for me to feel less lonely, all that remained to be hoped was that on the day of my execution there should be a huge crowd of spectators, and that they should greet me with howls of execration."

                                               - Albert Camus, The Stranger

I don't want to be executed, execrated

god loves you (glue!)... (another way of saying:

someone out there loves you, I love myself, love yourself)

glum with gloom

gleaming glamour

glad with glee!
