Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

"Conception Day"

The day I may have been conceived:

1970, from Wikipedia:
a).December 3 - October Crisis: In Montreal, Quebec, kidnapped British Trade Commissioner James Cross is released by the Front de Libération du Québec terrorist group after being held hostage for 60 days. Police negotiate his release and in return the Government of Canada grants 5 terrorists from the FLQ's Chenier Cell their request for safe passage to Cuba.
b)December 3 - Burgos Trial: In Burgos, Spain, a trial begins of 16 Basques terrorism suspects.

That's kind of a trip. No one ever looks up the history of their conception day.

There have been 10 leap years since I was born, with 119 days in my birth year, 78 days of this year (excluding leapday), and 36 years in between ('72-'07), for a total of my having been on this earth for 13,347 days. That's 36 yrs, and 197/207 days. Throw in the 277 days, more or less, of happy incubation womb time, and I've been around for 13,624 days today. That's kind of fun to know/figure out.

Weird neologism of the day: is the opposite of a matrix a patrix?
