Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Dust

"We are all stardust" -Carl Sagan

Dust is in the news. Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. All we are is dust in the wind. Formed from the clay, from Adam's rib, from evolution, from monkeys, from "soup." We are what we eat: chicken soup? Squawk! You chicken! Okay, enough of my ranting.

Seriously, the universe just got a whole lot brighter. Apparently, astronomers discounted the effect of cosmic dust on their readings of the magnitudes of brightness from stars (from 10% dimming to -get this- FIFTY percent). I think I'll have my eggs sunny side up.

It could get even brighter, I suppose. The future's so bright, I've gotta wear shades.

Is this the explanation for "dark matter?"...dust? Sounds like a good candidate to me. I'd elect it. Did you know a large amount of household dust comes from dead skin cells? I think cobwebs form from dust. No, there is no such thing as an animal called a cob. Maybe the world wide web is a Cobb web?

Cleanliness is next to Godliness
You should dust your house, because:
1. Some dust consists of human skin; it is estimated that the entire outer layer of skin is shed every day or two at a rate of 7 million skin flakes per minute, which corresponds to a mass emission rate of about 20 mg/minute.

2.According to the German Environmental Survey, approximately 6 mg/m²/day of house dust is formed in private households, depending primarily on the amount of time spent at home. Nearly 1000 dust particles per square centimeter settle on domestic surfaces every hour.

I just read The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne.
In it, Bob Proctor says "Your body is casting off millions of cells every second, and it's also creating millions of new cells at the same time." Then, John Hagelin is quoted as saying, "In fact, parts of our body are literally replaced every day. Other parts take a few months, other parts a couple of years. But within a few years we each have a brand new physical body."

So, if you cast off your sickness, dust sweep and flush it out the house, and replace it with a new healthy you, you'll be doing everyone a favor. That's my new twist on house-cleaning. Fill your house, likewise, with things that make you happy, that represent who and what and how and where you want to be. Breathe well; in good and out whatever may be bothering you. Each day is a new day to improve upon the last. Each week is a new cycle. Each year, measured from the new year or your birthday, is an opportunity to live better than the last. Some people get younger over time. Or at least healthier, fitter, happier, more active, vibrant, in love.
