No, I'm not saying we should all go to jail
Maybe I should. According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day (or 28 hours/week, or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year). In a 65-year life, that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube. Number of violent acts seen on TV by age 18: 200,000.

As for movies, the average cost to make and market a film in 2005 dipped slightly from 2004, to $96.2 million. The moviebox.net lists 228 movies for that year. That's $21,933.6M ($21.9336B). I'm sure it cost more money because of independents. Movie attendance has exceeded one billion paid-admissions annually since 1976. A (2001, I believe) summary of the movie industry by James Jaeger is at:

As for music, "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order and lends to all that is good and just and beautiful." Plato said this.
Like I've said before, it's all just mind control.
I think we should all stop running away from the world's problems and start addressing them head-on. If you say apply directly to the forehead, I'm going to kill you.
