Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

UN MDG's $

How much will it cost to meet the 8 MDG's?

The UN Millennium Project, online, states:
"Our results suggest that in a typical low-income country with an average per capita income of $300 in 2005, external financing of public interventions will be required on the order of 10–20 percent of GNP. For these countries, the costs of achieving the Goals will need to be split roughly evenly between domestic finance and ODA (Outside Development Assistance). Meanwhile, middle-income countries will be able to finance essentially all investments in the Goals without resorting to external finance—unless excessive debt burdens constrain them."

"The estimate for overall ODA required for the MDGs during the coming decade will be $135 billion in 2006, rising to $195 billion in 2015. These figures are respectively equivalent to 0.44 and 0.54 percent of donor GNP."

That's $1.65T total ODA between '06 and '15.
So, if domestic investment covers the other half of the total, then...
the grand total for meeting the MDG's is $3.3T
That's one tasty bottle of beer!
The world should have a party in 2015, if the goals are met (or exceeded! :-)

The 8 goals are:1. eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, 2. achieve universal primary education, 3. promote gender equality, and empower women, 4. reduce child mortality, 5. improve maternal health, 6. combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, 7. ensure environmental sustainability, 8. develop a global partnership for development

I think everyone should do something for it. We all own this planet.
And remember, 3.3T is a drop in the bucket. Let me explain:
World GDP in 2007 was 54.3T. We have until 2015 to meet the goals. It's 2008 now.
So 50T each year from '08 to '15 is 400T dollars.
Given the value of these goals, the world really has a moral obligation to meet them.
1.65T out of 400T?.... That's .4125 percent of world GDP. Not even half of one percent.

I would imagine that business would be investing alot more, in fact, however.
A greater quality of life for the world's poor should mean a better quality of life for us, too.
If slavery and malnutrition and squalid poverty and a horrifying lack of health care, etc. persist, then humanity is just plain rotten, and I, God, will resent ever having created you all.

P.S. I don't just want the end of hell. I want the beginning of universal heaven. Go love yourselves and one another, y'all. Make the kingdom.

That’s very true…with the years passing by it is getting more and more difficult to successfully fulfill the MDG.
But the UN has not yet given up efforts..its on its way..

This year the target is the Indian State..A stand up and take action event would be conducted here later this year.

Please check the details and be updated…
