Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

The Devil

4 evil.  Good evil.  Made by god to rule hell, a place for the just punishment of sinners.   Same as satan, Lucifer, antichrist, mephistopheles, beelzebub.   SD lamb.  Not eating lamb in San Diego.  But you can remember it that way.  Satan means ‘adversary.’   The enemy of God.  A rebellious angel.   You know, the humanoid creatures with wings, that nobody’s ever seen.   Prince of demons, devils, death, disease, destruction, darkness.  POD, for short.  That’s a band, too.  They play them on repeat in hell, lol.  Lucifer is a kind of match.  The light bringer.  Jesus said I am the light.   Not sure what to make of those two ideas.  There is a relationship between Jesus and Lucifer, apparently.  Light-hearted banter, or something.  A light snack.

What’s evil?  What does the devil espouse, and why?  Is everything good, in some way, from some perspective?  Is everything really “all right”?  A lawyer might be better situated to address this issue.  Criminal is close to sinful.  There is room for disagreement.  But can we all agree on what is utterly depraved?

I would say war and torture and murder and abuse and neglect.  And rape.  Any form of cruelty, like starvation or false imprisonment or psychological torment or undeserved punishment.  Personally, I think this includes meat and abortion and capital punishment and militaries.  But Most people disagree, I think.  But I think the existence of nuclear weapons is terrorism.   The goddamn things shouldn’t exist.  Military hierarchy and chain of command results in the fear of having stupid leadership blow us all up, ending civilization, destroying society, and causing an endless circle of reprisal and suffering, including chemical and biological warfare, and of course radiation sickness, cancer, and nuclear winter.  All right?  Of course not.

But the devil would be for all these things.  He hates everyone, himself, life, god, and humanity.  I mean, theoretically.   There’s probably some twisted soul that could fit the definition.  I mean, why be a mere human when you can be The Devil?   Much more exciting, it seems to me.   Same reason I’m God, when you get down it, really.   But God is a zillion times better.  Or maybe not.   We’re all just humans, equal, equal to each other, maybe even equal to ants or whatever.  We may look down on bugs, but they do a lot, I’m not going to judge whether more or less important than what we do.  But squashing bugs is fun.

Devotion to devil Dave, devil Devan, and the devil devas, devilish divas, and deviled eggs and camaron al diablo.   Diabolical frolic.  Wicked and sick and twisted.  Cruel fools.  People have gotten rotten.   The devil is not without some virtue.  Not devoid of devouring.   Development needs the devil.   Out with the old, in with the new.  Op ment, a psy op, a psychological operation.  Putting the fear of God into people.  The hellish stick to the heavenly carrot.  It’s an ancient form of social control.  Fear and guilt and repentance and confession and forgiveness, remorse and contrition, integration into society, recognition and respect for the rights of others, as others have for you, that results in a civilized society, fear of hell, fear of God, fear of punishment, fear of justice, fear of the devil.   Evil is vile.  Like a live wire, zap!
