Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess
L-I'm a straight, virgo/boar INTJ (age 52) who enjoys books, getting out into nature, music, and daily exercise.

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

SANS

single, asexual, non-dating, solitary

I have only a few friends.
In college, I dated an Ellen Covington-French.
sans French, lol (I miss the french kissing)

Ugh: I can't remember when Sara and I split (in Roseville), met (9/4/x), or had our (unofficial) ceremony (5/19/x).  If only for the sake of mental tidiness.  Water under bridge.

Wag bio:  Hi Wagsters! My name is Jesse and I'm a reader, writer, and thinker with a degree in International Relations from UC Davis, living in Berkeley, who blogs about god, religion, spirituality, theology, and himself - and tries to read a book per day.  I'm an uncle: Uncle Jesse, the real thing!  Perhaps I should also mention -ladies- that I'm single, straight, virgo/boar INTJ (age 48) who enjoys getting out into nature, music, and daily exercise.   Dog walking is a natural fit for me, as dogs have been a part of my life for about a decade, now.   I look forward to being there for you and your dog(s), when I'm not at the library or gym.

A funny thought:  Everything I own is a gift!
A gift from God.   That's true, isn't it?  (But no - technically, not really)
Just like how God may be the source of all things good, but he didn't invent ice cream, right?

al gore can rearrange (anagram) to 'regalo,' which is spanish for 'gift'.
Jesse also means gift. God's gift.  Not even kidding.  Or 'king', or 'god exists'.  It's a biblical name, father of king David, namesake of the Jesse tree (lineage of Jesus).   It's Isai, in spanish.  Isa is Jesus, in Arabic.  Kinda fun.  Don't take the name of the lord god in vain.  Or H, in vein, either.  Hey, Zeus.
