What is “evil” and what is “good”? Is there a spectrum, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, from most good to least, (or least evil to most), which doesn’t apply to Gods and Goddesses? Is becoming a superhuman deity or demon dehumanizing? Or empowering?
Most good is getting what you want; say, freedom + love + immortality, or no pain + unlimited money + ability to fly, or invisibility cloak + unlimited heroin + new lives (like a video game, say), or X-men powers (morphing, healing, magneto) + access to omniscience + telepathy, or mind control + time travel / teleportation + super-strength, or a library + a swimming pool + unlimited wishes… you get the picture.. invulnerable and invincible, happy, beautiful, you name it…. I like time manipulation (travel forward or back + time freeze+ Groundhog Day movie premise) !
The worst is constant torture and torment for all eternity, with no hope, only increasing despair. That one’s easy. In a word, hell. Maybe Jesus did us a service by giving us a starting point for all further progress, toward “heaven” (even if neither heaven nor hell actually exist).
Maybe human life IS heaven. It can be. It should be. Peace and prosperity and health and love and friendships and libraries and restaurants and Nature add up to something pretty close, in my view. Having sex and getting a tan by the pool and a delicious sushi or thai meal? You dig? Or maybe you like rollercoasters and surfing and skydiving and rock climbing and risk. Or a runner’s high, endorphins from getting pumped, tripping on acid, I don’t know. Life has a lot of possibility.
It's only human to play subhuman or superhuman roles! Maybe Gods and Goddesses, devils and vampires, saints and angels, don't exist, but the roles are there for the playing, to give life meaning, and maybe even some FUN.

God is odd. Is he/she/it one or many, limited or infinite, good or bad, real or imaginary? Is God the most perfect being? An alien or human? Weak or powerful? Alive or dead? Prior to the universe? Always and everywhere? How exactly does this being hear prayers? Is He (a telepath) in all our heads? Is God schizophrenic? Does God believe in Himself? Is everything ever said about him true? Are we his toys? Is God our toy? Just a useful concept for hypnosis and control? Is omniscience even theoretically possible? If God knows everything, how can the universe be infinitely big? God knows every thing? The end of science. Or how can God have a finite brain that isn’t the Universe Itself? What does verse have to do with the universe, anyway? Silly human, etymology is for kids. What else? Is God friend or foe? Can He really do anything? A fun concept to play with, but can the most Godly make the concept functionally real? Or is God love only for those who are in love? Does God love to hate, too? Has he read all the books? Does he have perfect memory? Is he always happy? What is God’s religion, lol. Yada yada. Who the heck is everyone submitting to?
