Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Happiness

Security

A guarantee of healthcare, food and shelter, clean water, sanitation, and libraries and internet, for life.   Access to a gym, yoga, friends and family, and -of course- someone to love, who loves you back.  Comfort like air conditioning and heating, or a fireplace.   Engagement with music, books, web pages, blogs, videos, movies, restaurants, travel, and variety.   Stimulus, meaning, purpose, touch, nature, a project, a hobby, learning, teaching, making a difference, service, humor.   Being in good health, good shape, beauty, sanity, improvement, freedom, gratitude, respect.  Not dying with any regret.  Doing your best.  Being a part of the solution.  Making the world a better place.  That’s about it, really.  Friendships and community.  A good night’s sleep.  Winning.  Achieving goals.  Being good.

hm.  these are all attachments.  conditions.  suffering.  just putting a prayer out into the universe.   a request.  an ideal for society, the planet, everyone.  maybe insecurity is somehow good, too.  is it really all good?  not sure I'm realized.  not exactly a buddha.   Just me.
