Why Not

(trip to Yosemite/Sierra Nevada)

money, trust, etc.

I like my routine, my dogs, my life.

I like camping, but haven’t gone in over 20 years

I’m not prepared, and I feel I don’t know you well enough

Yosemite is 196 miles from Berkeley, and neither of us have a car.

What if? Car breaks down.  Food?  

Your bank is drained?  Am I paying for this?

I don’t want to be stuck in the wilderness with you:

Paranoia, about (space) aliens, possession, persecution, spying, threat

Crazy, and me too.  Plus, my voice says you’ll crash.

You said my blog brought you to tears.  I don’t believe that.

Criminal record, unknown politics, lack of sincerity, lack of trust

Seems to me, you’re scarred and jaded, about best day ever

Rejected sexual overture, toyed with (micro, naked and afraid)

The bit about mayors and eagle scouts doesn’t make sense

  It’s nakedly aggressive, manipulative, and maybe even psycho

And a 50 yo woman saying she’s wet is just weird

Questionable motives

   Blog as material for stories, songs - but without access to wifi?

   Doesn’t make sense

The whole thing is unnecessary

My blog is freely available

I’ve given you exemption from “no derivative works”

Maybe you wouldn’t be paranoid about invaded privacy if you have nothing to hide

Maybe you’re being friendly because you’re feeling threatened

And maybe there IS a threat 

Is best of a bad bunch the worst? (good at being bad)

I’m steering clear, out of self-interest

You want to be a samurai?  You like let-ters?  V’s everywhere?

Why do your parents want you institutionalized?

Why are they pressing charges?

Why are you trying to move to Europe?

Why were you homeless?  Are you on the lam?

My voice says you’re crazy

I’ve had head shocks just talking to you

You said you’ll laugh, you’ll cry.   Don’t want that.

It’s not good, it’s a bad situation

Plus, you took my chair, origami book, scrabble dict, and sierra nevada guide.  Maybe I’m no better than you, but I like you, not love, which could also be bad news, right?  I have my own issues.  I still like the idea of co-authoring a book with you.
