Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

A Mess

Of monstrous menace and malice

During mass at the monastery

must lust

Abortion rears its ugly head

So to speak

You can still be cannibals of Jesus

And drink his blood like a freaking vampire

If you believe products of conception aren’t human (yet)

Or treating them like tumors and excising them

Are the prerogative of mothers with unwanted pregnancies -

Not men, or the fathers, or the priests who call themselves fathers -

Despite knowing (fact, not opinion) that life begins at conception

But also knowing that we are just animals

So if you’re really pro-life

You shouldn’t be eating meat, either.

Or yogurt, if you want to get technical.

You should be sweeping the ground in front of you

Like the Jains (or at least the Jain monks)

Because you wouldn’t hurt a fly

But if you are as holy as all that,

You are probably a buddhist, with equanimity

Even for mothers snuffing their own babies

Because you are one with the universe

Om

my voice corrected me, with saying 'there's a lot more nuance to the debate' (sounds right)
