Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

A Happy List

I've done this before, but I enjoy the process

Shared words of Joy and positivity, smile and laughter, and generosity.

Knowledge, wisdom, understanding, truth, enlightenment, omniscience, challenge, creativity, levity, humor, god, good, better, best, virtue, integrity, purity, upright, honorable, love, peace, happiness, health, friendship, security, honesty, trust, joy, bliss, contentment, satisfaction, delight, pleasure, ecstasy, sex, massage, intimacy, touch, beauty, orgasm, rapture, Nature, outdoors, wilderness, forest, river, stream, ocean, beach, hiking, camping, mountains, lakes, fauna, flora, restaurants, barbecue, beer, wine, adventure, prepared, ataraxy, pellucid, balmy, calm, tranquil, relaxed, leisure, go slow, explore, travel, nap, rest, sleep, meditate, sunbathe, swim, surf, dip, strong, fit, healthy, well, sane, alive, alive! gratitude, bonding, companionship, intelligent, curious, disciplined, engaged, research, teach, learn, instruct, train, practice, improve, service, help, kindness, charity, compassion, leadership, sympathy, empathy, equanimity, clarity, acceptance, insight, mercy, forgiveness, innocence, irenic, example, stimulus, food, drink, music, books, internet, libraries, magazines, tv, movies, video, photography, art, craft, drugs, moderation, money, wealth, freedom, comfort, profit, community, camaraderie, teamwork, corporate, crew, talent, genius, dynamic, progress, development, improvement, unity, relationships, family, cooperation, science, taste, ethics, morals, quality, quantity, reward, grace, style, elegance, discrimination, value, singularity, exercise, endorphins, clean, oxytocin, serenity, pleasant, perfection.

Also, a list of  (12) "Fathers" for Father's Day:   Larry Teshara (r.i.p.),  (Dad, died recently, last year, 8/19/'20).  I lucked out, you could say.   Dick Zonca (godfather, r.i.p.), Richard Stollnitz (birthfather, r.i.p.) (never met),   Founding Fathers (like Ben Franklin), Father Sky (married to Mother Earth?), and the San Diego Padres!   Also, church fathers (4:  early church founders, regular (current) priests (catholic "fathers"), The Pope (Il Papa).   And, of course, God The Father.   That's 10.   There are others, like the "father of computers" (Charles Babbage) or the "father of the bomb" (Edward Teller)...

And, a jarring statistic of American inequality:  0.1% of the population has as much wealth as the bottom 85%!   The population is 331 million Americans.   So, 331,00 of the richest Americans have as much as the 281 million + lowest-income yanks.   Freakin' nuts.  What is the total wealth of the USA?  GDP is 19T 390B 600M dollars.   You do the math.   Intelligent spending could relieve a whole lotta suffering!  My sources say there are 161,000 homeless in California.   553,000+ in all the USA.

All we need is food, shelter, clothing, clean water, sanitation, peace, healthcare, and libraries/internet.  By my lights.  Maybe you can think of other stuff.   Like love, kindness, compassion, and community.  And justice, forgiveness, mercy, understanding.  And freedom.  And art.  Nature and music.  And well-being/thriving/flourishing:  positive emotion, engagement, meaning, accomplishment, and positive relationships.  Okay, I'll stop.  Progress, development, growth, improvement, here we come. The road to shambala!
