Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

update

books and babies

I read 'Maus' today, a comic book about the holocaust.
I visited Sara and lil Augustus after Kaiser group (art week, this week).
I watched 3 episodes of 'it's always sunny in Philadelphia'.  hilarious.
only 60 or so episodes to go.  It's called a "cult" show on netflix, for some reason.
I went to the Y, early.  Only once, today.  and no NY times.
I'm working on 'the science book' (lol), a 400pp national geographic book with lots of pictures.
It reminds me of that song, "Don't know much about science book...french I took...etc."
(What a wonderful world this could be -Sam Cooke)
I've also got a book called Black Theology & Black Power, by James H. Cone.
I'm going to dinner this Saturday, at my parents' house.
Looking forward to seeing lil Ben again.
I bought a book from a used book store recently, here in Berkeley, called "Collected Poems of Robert Service" for 10 bucks.   My dad already has it, but I wanted a copy for myself.  It's good for campfires.  I remember Ed Lindquist reciting (from memory) poems from it at Camp Royaneh.

YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THE WATER AND THE BLOOD BY STEVE FINNELL

There are many today who want have their sins washed away and be sanctified apart from the waters of baptism. Can you segregate water baptism from the blood of Christ? I do not believe you can do that.

Forgiven Christians have been justified by the blood of Christ. (Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.)

Forgiven Christians have been washed in the blood of Christ. (Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over all the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.)

Forgiven Christians are sanctified by the blood of Christ.(Hebrews 13:12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.)

At what point do Christians get washed in the blood of Christ?.
This is what the apostle Paul said to the Christians in Corinth. (1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.)

When are Christians washed and sanctified?

Acts 22:16 'And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

Ephesians 5:25-26.....Christ also loved the church...26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteous which we have done , but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

When are Christians washed and sanctified? Christians are washed and sanctified when their sins have been forgiven.

Act 2:22-41

Acts 2:38 The Peter said to them, "Repent , and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins;and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Christians contact the blood of Christ, they are sanctified, they are justified, they have their sins washed away at the point of water baptism.

WHAT MUST YOU DO TO BE SAVED?

FAITH--John 3:16
REPENTANCE---Acts 3:19
CONFESSION---Romans 10:9-10
WATER BAPTISM---Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38

Water baptism is the point when men contact the blood of Christ.
