Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess
I'm a straight, virgo/boar INTJ (age 54) who enjoys books, getting out into nature, music, and daily exercise.

F.Y.I. There are about 2500 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

WOVE

 Wealth Of Vicarious Experience

From READING.   I like imaginary worlds, fiction, different times, places, people and personalities and characters, situations and events, and living in author's heads (them living in mine?).   It's compressing the time and effort of the author into a kind of lived experience, that lingers (when written well).

I like reading Wikipedia and WorldBook encyclopedias (And Grokipedia).   And The Economist.  And Short Stories.  And Trivia (for example, J! archive (online), and Trivial Pursuit cards).   WEST.

I have some a) MASD (martial arts, self-defense) books, b) joke books, and c) philosophy books.   I like Terry Pratchett and Thomas Pynchon and David Foster Wallace (I'd like to be a completist of each).

Between the Reading and the Blog (Writing), I can walk dogs for fresh air, and supplementary income, and be of service to my household.   I want my roommate to be happy.   She is the most interesting person I know.   Punctuated with: Music and movies and restaurants and improving my body (not just maintenance).

Life, I know, is just moving things around.   Logistics.  So exercise, activity, being engaged with life, staying busy, going to bed tired, waking refreshed, and living in the moment, being happy now, are my guiding principles.   Life is in the journey, not the destination.

So I'll have thousands of short stories living in my mind (I have a shelf of the Berkeley Main public library in mind), the most interesting g/f on the planet, a healthy body from good diet and exercises, a depth of knowledge from reading trivia cards and encyclopedias and news, and pleasant periodic resets from meditation and rest.

That's my Life Plan, in a nutshell.   :-)

WOVE on the net :-)      I'll share what I read and my thoughts about it all, with you, along the way.
