Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Numbers

 and Religion, of course

the Bible:  The Book of Numbers, Chapter and Verse, numbers in the Bible like 7 or 666 or One or Trinity or Twelve or what-have-you, and Crypto-christianity like 25 and jesus/jew and basically, any word at all converted into numbers.  Does the Bible sum to 42?  lol.    I'm serious.    I've read the Bible is a "mathematical construct."    Like how David Foster Wallace made a book of his a "sierpinski gadget".   Like, whatever, I guess.

Counting things:  That's What Numbers Are For!!!!  A true mathematician uses numbers to quantify Reality and not just play with numbers in exercises of mental-masturbation.   Masturbation can be fun, but the numbers want to count stuff, lol (concepts, things, events, temporal increments, distance, reps/sets, people, what-have-you).

Numb-brr.    Numbers of doors and windows and heaters and logs of wood and days in a blizzard and time until help arrives and time until you freeze to death...   Or, cold and calculating and numb to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, trials and tribulations, and needs and wants of everyone and their mother.

Math:  Class, things like architecture and accounting, computer science, library science, and using indexing as a tool for memory and comprehension, in writing and in your head.

Quantification, to get a handle on Reality, and solve Problems.  Welcome to the machine.

For example, how many synonyms for a given word?   How many words in a language?  Letters in an alphabet?  Syllables, letters in any given word?   Wordles and anagrams?  Entries in an encyclopedia?  Books per author?   Pages per book?  Chapters?  Libraries per city?  Sentences per paragraph?  Paragraphs per chapter?  How many languages are there?  How many countries?  How many religions?  People?  Animals?  Species?  Number of current wars?  Average heights and shoe-sizes and incomes?  Deaths per day?  Births?  Chickens killed per year?  Yada yada.

Keeping diaries and journals and recording entries and counting days and activities and events and tasks.   Structuring Reality, and organizing thoughts into conceptual groupings, aka lists and paragraphs and essays and books (subdivided into chapters or topics).  Is Reality just a giant List?? (list of lists).    Of, say, people, places, things, events, ideas, and jokes?  Addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays?

Sex!  How many partners?  How many times?  For how long?  How many inches?  Pumps, lol

Kent can't count the number of cunts who quote him Kant.   You can't count on Count Dracula to be quaint.   Counting the number of counters at the store (who's counting?).   Moves and counter-moves, like blows and counter-blows.

My conclusion?  Numbers are a way to spend your time, structure your mind, and quantify a complex world, for better understanding and Memory.   Science needs numbers, math, quantification, processing.   Your world gains focus, clarity, is less fuzzy, nebulous.  Specificity and details and knowing things like your budget, or number of clients/customers, etc. etc.

Let there be itemization to fill the brain, and songs to fill the air!
