Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2500 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

D.O.G. woof

writing about writing

Just put an empty page in front of you, and start typing.   Like this.   I have wprb playing music in the background.   Very nice.   Pleasant.  What do you want to read?  That’s always a question.   But more importantly, what do I want to write?  Something humorous, light-hearted.   You know, like ‘the meaning of God’.

God, with a capital G, is the God of gods.  Numero uno, head honcho.  Up there, in heaven, doing whatever it is a God does.   He does good, and he does it well.   He has freedom, but since He is perfectly good, He always makes the best choices.  If you ARE God, then it really is all good, right?  I mean, by definition.

So, good and bad is defined by who you are?   That can’t be right.  You step into your God suit, and play the role for the audience in your head, and it all comes up roses, with shiny happy people holding hands?  Well, if the definition of God is Love.

If God loves something, does he hate its opposite?   Like loves peace, and therefore hates war?   Or does God love everyone, both sides of the chess board, as it were.  God may love bullies, but he’s on the victim’s side.  God has His own law.  He loves (and hates) everyone equally.  He does not have his own people.  God likes beetles more than humans, maybe.

Anyway, I got sidetracked.  God is a concept, role, identity, status.  God is good, love.   God is merely a word that people rally around, if you ask me.  Something for a group to identify with, to define inclusion and exclusion, members and outsiders.  God loves humans, male and female, and everything else.  God is happy.   They say "only God is good."   You should Be Him, too.

Create something.   Like an origami box balloon.  Or a crane.  Or a blog post.  Or a book.  Or knowledge, do some research.  Use Wikipedia or google, trivia cards, whatever.  Make yourself into the body you want to look at.   Make money.   Make friends.  Make love.  Be a maker.   Make do, with what you got.   Make bacon.   Bake a cake, as fast as you can.  Make a choice.

Shiva is a destroyer.   Part of creation is replacing older, inferior, broken things.  Brahma and Shiva are not at war.   Shiva is not trying to nuke anyone, destroying our planet, or anything like that.  But to dust we shall return.  Time creates, destroys.  So create before you die.   Make yourself happy.

How would I presume to know anything about God?   Well, I’ve been to church, to Mass, to the Wikipedia page, to a Theology class in college, to a dictionary, in love relationships, and in front of a computer (the word was God!).   Reality is all the God there ever is, said a guru (Adi Da Samraj).  God is good.  It’s linguistic.  It’s the universe, multiverse, all.   All?  Aha.  Allah.

So what is the meaning of God?  The word ‘God’ is the creator, ruler of the universe, the source of all moral authority, and the Supreme Being.   Like the alpha male of Reality.  For all us human gorillas.   The best.  That could be Mr. Universe, or Olympians, or the greatest geniuses, in a complex relationship of melded mind.  I mean, if you ask me.
