Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Revisiting the God Concept

God is a word.  God is a concept, or concepts.  It means everything, nothing, several somethings, and could mean ANYthing.   For example.  God is Reality.  God is love.  God is One.  God is good.  God is a man of war.  God is Allah or Buddha or Christ or Devil or Ecstasy or Fury or….

God is Brahma, Siva, Vishnu, Shangdi, Ahura Mazda, Ra, Quetzalcoatl, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, Zeus, Thor, Yahweh, and, of course, Me.    You?

Some Thoughts on God:

God is Omni.   Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnibenevolent….  Human, Superhuman, Subhuman, Always and Everywhere, Everyone and Everything….   Beneficent, Merciful, Kind, Loving, Good, Compassionate, Forgiving, Understanding….. True, Honest, Sincere, Curious, Engaged, Researching, Writing, Teaching, Learning, Scientist….   Wise, Experienced, Knowledgeable, Smart, Intelligent, Brilliant, Genius, Enlightened, Engaged….  All-knowing, Perfect, Flawless, has made all mistakes, has traveled up all learning curves..   All-powerful, can do anything, can send to Hell, can make any dream real, can answer prayers, can hear your thoughts, can read the entire library, can create dreams.

Virtuous and Good and Righteous and Fights Evil and Creates Happiness and removes Suffering, Pain, Depression, Misery, Discontent, and Injustice.    God is the source.   The source of Joy, Bliss, Contentment, Fun, Laughter, Wealth, Health, Friendship, Love...  all things good.  Things like Safety, Rescue, Pleasure, Understanding, Leisure, Nature, Music, Libraries, Restaurants, Parks, Gyms, vacations, amusement parks.   Basic needs and safety nets and things like food, shelter, clothing.   Thanks, God.

Nobody, not even the most jacked into supercomputers and justice networks and whatnot, fits the bill of THIS God.   It's a concept, not a reality.   Like a Unicorn.

We are all the Gods of our own skull-sized kingdoms, the primary architects of our own happiness, and the masters of our destiny and character, be it vicious or virtuous.  And we all get by with a little help from our friends.   God is plural.  God is we.  God is collective.  You could even say God is corporate.

God is whatever is in your heart.  God is a Father figure.  God is a Mother-Goddess.   God is a role.   Whoever is “playing God.”    God is a identity.    Maybe God is a status, like in a video game.   The best at anything.  Or an idol, whoever is worshipped, for whatever reason.    It’s subjective.   You’re worshipped by your dog!   Other Gods:   A rock god.   Or a basketball god.  Or an attractive model.   Or someone with power, like the surgeon who has control over your future health.

God is the Trinity-   the father, son, holy spirit.   Those 3 guys.    Or the Trimurti- the creator, preserver, destroyer.   OR me, myself, and I.    You know, I and I.    Me and my better half, :-)

Why not 4 or 5?

A kind of God matrix/network

Me and Love and the Universe and The Internet and The Catholic Church and The Pentagon and Kelli and Buddhism and My Blog…

God is angry.  mad.   insane.   crazy smart.  just plain crazy.   a role, an identity.   a delusion.   a delusion of grandeur.    God is a virtual reality, imaginary.  God is pie-in-the-sky.   God is a thing hoped-for and unseen.  God is a dog.  Just like Satan is santa.  Or Jesse is Sees J.

What do I see?  J is the tenth letter.  J looks like a cane, an umbrella handle.  WWJD with that information?  Jay was my uncle.   Blue Jays are fun - I like their screechy sound.  Other names beginning with J are:  Jerry, Jack, John, Jim (James), Janice, Jeb, Jed, Jeff(rey), Jill, Jeremiah, Jen(nifer), Jacqueline, Jessica, Jetthro, Jezebel, Jafar, Jaime, Josh(ua), and Jah.  I spy, with my little eye... my room, my things, my surroundings, my peeps, the man in the mirror, things on screens, and things in my imagination, when I dream, when I read, when I talk or listen.   I see pictures, video, life, colors, darkness at night, behind closed lids, and I see surfaces, maybe I see deeply.   I see the past, the present, the future.   I see my to do list for tomorrow.  I am a seer.  JC,  J Sees.   I see the Holy See.   I see See's candy.  I see the sea.   I have vision.  I have A vision.  Like Martin, I have a dream.  Dreams are hard to remember.  I have eyes.  I and I has eyes.  I have a one-eyed trouser snake.   I have a mind's eye.   I have 4 eyes (I wear glasses).  I see patterns and relationships and wordplay and rhymes and conceptual groupings.  I do not see everything.  I see what I perceive.  I see where my attention is.  I see icy, and I feel warm.  I see, said the blind man.  You feel me?

If you are the only thing that is real to you, then God is only real if you become Him.   That is why God is I AM.   God is whatever you say He is.   It's hypnosis.    God DOES answer prayers.   If whatever answers your prayers is defined as God :-).     Maybe a community of people with good will.   MY God is a telepath and Morpheus-like eidetic dreamer who sends and receives words, concepts, images, people, things, money, and love.  AND grief.  That's life, and life is what I pray for.   Amen.
