Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2500 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

God Delusion

God is love, but there's no love in your life?   Or, God is dead?  Or, omniscience isn't possible, even theoretically?  Or, no-one lives forever?  Or, God is one of thousands of historical deities, all of which are mythological, and therefore imaginary, not real?  Or, everyone who has claimed divinity before in history has been some kind of raving idiot loony, not worthy of worship, and plainly delusional?  Or, God must OF NECESSITY remain hidden, and subject to mere (mostly blind) faith, not the object of a public display of omnipotence or glory, OR God remains undefined, so all talk about the subject is inherently moot.   OR, the Creator of the Universe must somehow have been created himself, so the question of genesis is just passed on to theology, from physics.   OR, the choice between an all-powerful being that loves us and promises us Heaven (and punishment for our enemies) vs. being alone in the Vast space of an infinite universe without meaning, that only promises a dusty death (for all), makes most of us humans theists, at least publicly, if only to conform to a society (with an average IQ of 100).

Anyway.

People who claim to be "God" are usually mentally ill.   Psychotic.  Delusional.  Hallucinatory.  Schizophrenic. Insane.  We think we're important.   Some of us need unquestioned obedience.    Our personal agendas need to be seen as the divine will.   And, of course, anyone who disagrees is under the power of the devil.

What am I, then?

Just a guy.   Like Jesus.  He was just a guy.  Hitler is dust, just like Jesus.  Dream worlds and technological virtual worlds don't promise us Heaven, and never will.  Humans are just another species of animal, and are the biological equivalent of anything (worms, ants, elephants, donkeys, butterflies, you name it.).  In fact, we're living THINGS, like rocks, but with the added bonus of brains, breath, bipedalism, and beer.   :-)

Thus spaketh Jessemiah
