Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess
I'm a straight, virgo/boar INTJ (age 54) who enjoys books, getting out into nature, music, and daily exercise.

F.Y.I. There are about 2500 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

Big Thing

GOD

Is the biggest thing

Bigger than the universe, even

How big is the Universe?  No one knows!  Theoretically infinite

Like time.   Infinite past, infinite future, always NOW

Always and forever, now and then

Huh?

Oh God, you are SO BIG

So very very big    lol

I am so very very small

Puny and weak and infinitesimal

A Speck in the Vast

My life, all these moments, like tears in rain

Raindrops in the ocean

Teeny weeny itty bitty ant fart in a hurricane

A blip on a screen?  A brain in a matrix

Here and gone, past and passed

A sperm and egg to bones and dust

Just a brick in the wall, a cog in the machine

A candle, an incense stick, a bouquet of flowers, sand in the hourglass

Everything is a memento mori (a bubble, even a diamond)

No one lives forever (now and always and forever and ever)

impermanent, passing, brief, momentary, fleeting, fading, disappearing, ephemeral, temporary, evanescent, transient, fugacious

Yada yada

Yes, yes, I know I'm not being consistent.   You choose your own beliefs from the menu of options, like everyone else.   Maybe this God thing is fugacious, too.   Some day we'll all be real and factual, with the ability to discriminate between dreams and Reality.   But lying your ass off is part of the process, no?
