 My Theology

Theology is the study of God.   -Ology means ‘the study of’.    It’s not the study of ‘the,’ however.   ‘Theos’ means God.   Islam worships THE God.  No God but God.  One God.   God is the source of all goodness.  True God from true God.  God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.  God is Love.  Theos is kind of the world’s OS (Operating System).  What’s love got to do with it?  Well, fall in love and find out.  What is love?  Does anybody love anybody, anyway?   You make love, and you break love, they say.  People change.  Love pumps on.  

True love finds its soul mate?  There is the ideal of perfect, unending, infinite love.  We call this love God.  It’s theoretical.   Hopefully, we can all find God.  God is the way to happiness.  The path to bliss. The source of all goodness.  If you love love, Love will love you back!  Don’t worry, be happy.  God loves you.  He is perfect, and makes no mistakes, and life is unfolding exactly as it should, believe it or not.  Heaven is whatever makes you happy, a place on earth, the state of being -always and everywhere- with Love, being in love, loving, and being loved.  Love-bliss is what it’s all about.   

What makes you happy?  What is love?  Endorphins from exercise, oxytocin from love, nirvana from meditation and enlightenment.  Various entertainments like music, reading, movies, dancing, being in Nature.   Waterskiing, rock climbing, surfing.  Sunning yourself, taking a cold shower.  Going to bed tired, waking refreshed.  You are your body.  If you look good, you will feel good.  Nice clothes, a healthy, beautiful body, not wanting for anything.  Having nice things.   Variety of experience, trying new things, new restaurants, different cultures.  There’s also bliss from heroin, of course.   It’s illegal, addictive, dangerous.   You can die from it.  Not recommended.  Unless it’s legalized, and monitored, is what I would say.  In any case, pharmaceuticals have helped me.   You don’t have to consider being on medications as anti-authenticity.  Just another chemical in your system, really.

Making lots of money doing something you love, that makes a big difference extinguishing sadness and creating joy, like doing standup comedy, or writing, or helping people transform their lives and bodies, like Tony Robbins.  Be all that you can be, says the army.  Get out of that rut.  No need to be depressed.   If you’re bored, then you’re boring.  And you should always remember that you can choose to be happy, no matter what.  That’s what unconditional means.  The Good Life is simply being happy with what you’ve got.  But plenty of cash doesn’t hurt, either.   Or living with freedom.  Life is pretty simple:  logistics.  We just move stuff around.    If you have the basics, you should be happy, with gratitude and appreciation.  Basic needs, in my book, are food, shelter, clothing, libraries, healthcare, friendship, and love.  Stuff like clean water and working sanitation.  Having a life with meaning.   Meaning of the kind kind (ha).   Mean people suck.  Kindness is my religion.  There’s cruel to be kind, yeah, I know.  But you grok what I’m saying.   Amidst all our diversity, we’re all human beings, and want the same things, more or less.   Comfort, satisfaction, ease, leisure, relaxation, for one.   Companionship, friendships, intimacy, and community, for another.  Thirdly, a healthy body, with stretching and exercise (sweat daily, is a rule of thumb), with delicious nutritious and varied food, and not too little or too much sleep.    Finally, feeling vibrant, active, engaged, productive, and helpful, doing something you enjoy, with good karma, making the world a better place. 

They say only God is good.   So be God.   3 ways:  If not identity, then possessed by, or just a a servant of.   It's all good.   It is not evil to claim the power of love.  I claim no special status as a deity;  I am just a philosopher who thinks about this stuff more than most.  God as a perfect being, superior, creator of the universe?  I am not that.   Not bad?  Certainly!
