Some Royaneh memories

relating to my dad, Larry Teshara (Mr. T)

Uncle Zeke,  "Blue Cards"!  "Get ON With It!!!" , (the horror story of) Murphy's Gulch, (the order of the arrow story of) Eagle Eye, Citizenship Merit Badges (in the Community, Nation, World),  Communication Merit Badge,  3 chairs for Camp Royaneh (a pun on 3 cheers), Selling uniforms from the back of the Vanagon,  Eating it's it's from the Trading Post, the M and M game, and, of course, being thrown into the pool!   There was also a thing for a time called the Larry Teshara / Art Sawada friendship grove.  As a commissioner, he gave brief camp history lessons/anecdotes, in the morning.  When the staff gathered around the campfire, he would lead the song beginning "When the dreary hours of Winter pass away"...

more personal memories:  Little Zeke, King Cairn, working on math notebooks in the Chief's Room, Molly the Mop.   Dad threw me in the pool when he found out I was playing along with a prank to make him think I was bloody and injured.   Kind of a mean thing to do, in retrospect.  I was worried about my watch getting wet.  I also remember bunking with him, and falling from the upper bunk while asleep.

I'm planning on going to the dedication ceremony there on 8/21, of the Larry Teshara Scoutcraft building, built with donations from his Troop 351 (of which he was the Scoutmaster).   I forget which Troop he was in, as a youth.  I'm going with my mom, who is kind of the High Priestess of the Cult of Larry, lol.  I don't think dad ever told her the Murphy's Gulch story, though (which, to me, is a little weird).
