Welcome!

I, God, welcome you to my blog!

The good book says only God is good, so it seems to me somebody needs to step up.

I hope you enjoy reading this, the Jesse Journal, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to subscribe, write me an email, request that I write about any particular topic you may want my perspective on, send a prayer, click on the charity link, or donate money to my bicycle fund! Have fun!

Your pal, Jess

F.Y.I. There are about 2200 posts..

Here's a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky to start things off right: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.

redness and stuff

some recent linguistic musings

colanders are holy
vacuums suck
fans blow
jaws bite

who is willing to die to promote "pro-life?" (!)
'fuck you' doesn't seem that offensive when you think about it-
because it seems to refer to masturbation.

red words
sacred redemption, reduce hatred
incredibly redolent ingredients
predator credibility
Fred and Jared bred unpredictably
redo, tired

some bibles have words of christ in red...

dental hygiene

I went to the dentist today
(it's been over a year since my last visit)

I got a few tips I thought I'd share!:

1.use an electric toothbrush (she recommended I get it from Costco)
(because I'm a poor brusher, and I haven't flossed, either)
2. floss (in the c-shape, around each tooth)
3. use a rinse before going to sleep
4. carry a regular toothbrush with you, so that after every meal, and especially "sticky" foods (e.g. meat, cheese, pasta, bread), you clear out the bacteria.
5. and/or- swish out your mouth with water after every snack
6.replace toothbrushes every 6 months, at the least.
7.toothpicks are good, too.

I plan on doing a wikipedia research to learn what
gingivitis and periodontal disease (are / how they differ)
most of my teeth were "3-2-3", but some were worse (4s and 5s)

I bought a rinse on my trip home.
the electric toothbrushes at walgreens seem pricey, with one model for like $180...
the cheaper ones were 30 or 40, I think.
