The End
It seems to me Oblivion should be approached in 3 ways:
1)Gratitude
2)Tranquility
3)Hope
Gratitude, both for
-a life well-lived,
and
-the cessation of suffering
Tranquility, without any
-craving for heaven, or rebirth
-aversion to death, or hell
and a little bit of Hope, mingled with curiosity, in the back of your mind, for the improbable (I suspect impossible) possibility of paradise/heaven/afterlife,
otherwise known as
"the life of the world to come"
my concept of the afterlife is simply
-your dna, children/grandchildren
-whatever memories of you remain, in the heads of people who knew you,
and
-whatever legacy you've left, such as art, writings, quotes, etc.
as well as
-your body, meat and bones, cycling back into Nature as it decays
I don't believe in souls.

God, NOT!
I'm not really God
I thought I was, but I was mistaken
I'm not always right, I'm imperfect, I'm an ordinary human being..
I'm not omnipotent, or omniscient, and certainly not omnipresent.
And I didn't create the universe (but I did create this blog!)
Everybody thinks I'm crazy, so I'll stop being God, alright?
If I really am God, I'll be God undercover, and inadvertently.
and on my own terms, not according to the crazy definitions out there. And I'm not a vampire, either, lol.
How can one "Be" love?
I think it's impossible to love everything and everyone.
But maybe it's worth an attempt.
I still suspect that God, as almost universally conceived, is imaginary.
But goodness exists, and I still think I'm good.

the passion of christ
that's what they call the crucifixion
they being christians
passion, for the rest of us, is 1)enthusiasm, or 2)sex
as in "the throes of passion"
sex can also be called coitus, copulation, or the horizontal mambo.
or, "the beast with two backs"
the sign of the beast is 666
xxx, and fox, are 666
(x is the 24th letter, f is the 6th, o is the 15th)
porn and fox news are the antichrist?
anyway,
sex makes babies
and babies "go toward the light"
and the process of childbirth is painful (excruciating)
cruc is the crux is the cross (to bear)
so if a man, like -say- Jesus wants to be a symbolic woman
and have symbolic sex (the holy trinity of holes: oral, anal, vaginal)
then fellatio, etc. can be approximated in "cum-union" (communion) wafer/host
and if he wants to be reborn, simulating the birth of his own child/dna,
then crucifixion pain would seem an apt correlation to birth
and being the "light of the world", coming out of the cave
would be coming out of the uterus
but it's all shit, in my opinion.
sorry.
shit comes out into the light, too.
holy shit
nailing and penetration
neo nailed trinity, lol

Sunday
a day of rest
I'm sick. Lost my voice. Coughing up phlegm. Not pretty. Stay away. I'm staying home. Reading Jane Austen's Emma.
Just went to the oakland zoo with my aunt, my mom's sister, the dominican nun, Rose Marie Hennessy, O.P.
Saw monkeys, chimps, ischial callosities, tigers, elephants, giraffes, elands, zebra, birds, snakes, lizards, a warthog, giant tortoises, lions, hyena, and lots of kids (the human animal kind- those beastly little monsters).
listening to blues hangover on whrb this morning, 7a.m.
good stuff.

from the Shambhala Sun
The good and bad in a nutshell:
two quotes from this month's Shambhala Sun-
(Shambhala means 'enlightened society')
from the article by Dzongsar Jamyong Khyentse:
1) "For a dharma practitioner, wealth is not gold, silver, or a healthy bank account; wealth is contentment -the feeling that you have enough and need nothing more."
2)"The masters of the past suggest we should constantly remind ourselves about: the imminence of death; the futility of our worldly activities; and the worst news of all, that there is no end to samsara's sufferings. Just look around you, and you will see the world never ceases to churn out more and more of the same thing, and that the result is unremitting pain and unbearable suffering."
